Fed: RAAF chief says it won't get better than JSF

The chief of the RAAF has given a ringing endorsement to our new defence aircraft ..

calling the Joint Strike Fighter the best multi-role combat aircraft in the world.

Air Marshal MARK BINSKIN says it will have the best radar and the best defensive system
of any aircraft in the world .. and it will be flown by the best people.

Air Marshal BINSKIN says Australia will need about 100 to maintain a credible level
of air combat capability.

The JSF is set to replace ageing F/A-18 Hornets and F-111 bombers from around the middle
of next decade.

The government hasn't committed to buying the aircraft yet .. and that's expected to
happen around June next year.
